parts deleting by themselves

parts deleting by themselves

Has anyone ever experienced parts just deleting by themselves?  I will be working on an assembly one day, save it and go to open on the next day and parts are missing.  I am the only engineer working on the models in question so I know that it is not do to someone else working with the same files.  Any ideas?

RE: parts deleting by themselves

M3Pete,

Are the part files still in the assembly tree? Or even in the same directory?  Do the part files still exist and can be edited separately?

I've had issues where I'll be working on an assembly file and the parts won't show up but they are still listed in the assembly tree.  Does this sound familiar?

If so, it was suggested that updating my video card drivers would help.  I've had less issues since doing so... Shutting down Solid Edge and restarting sometimes has fixed this for me as well.

I have the most issues when I use the Mirror command and Alternate Assemblies.

The files are still represented in the assembly tree but with a ? next to them...The parts are physically deleted from their folders.

I am aware of the video card issues and have recently update the drivers for my card.  This seamed to help for a week or so but recently files have been disappearing again.

I am completely baffled.

RE: parts deleting by themselves

Is the assembly file saved in the same folder as the part files? Is it on a network drive? Could it be a network problem? I'm not tech-savvy, just asking...

@ DFLewis I got this display problem too, intermittently, the whole assembly would disappear. At one time I had to do a clean reinstall of SE to get to see the parts again.
