PWHT UCS-79(d)

PWHT UCS-79(d)

(OP)
we calculation thickness of the head for small dia.
we met % Extreme fiber elongation - UCS-79(d) more than 5% for Material SA516-60 or 70 code require PWHT
if we used material SA234-WPB(CAP fitting) should be to PWHT or not?

thank you very much

RE: PWHT UCS-79(d)

I suppose if you use a CAP (234-WPB) that would be done using hot conforming, and in that case PWHT would not be neeeded.
Can anyone confirm?

RE: PWHT UCS-79(d)

If you met the requirements for extreme fiber elongation less than 5%, PWHT is not required.

RE: PWHT UCS-79(d)

For P-No. 1 the fiber elongation may be increase up to 40% if the condition of UCS-79(c) point (1) through (5) does not exist
