Realview option, how do I check if my dirver supports it?
Realview option, how do I check if my dirver supports it?
(OP)
Ok, I've figured out the only way I can have the design look realistic is to have the realview enabled. But it's actually greyed out. I have been searching for similar topics but they all say stuff about driver supports and stuff like that. So for a start, how can I check if my driver does support it? And what are the requirements for Realview?
Thankyou for your time, I look forward for a reply :)

Before you load a file, go to "Tools" > "Options" and under "System Options" > "Performance" check if the "Use Software OpenGL" Checkbox is ticked, if it is and it's also greyed out, then your graphics card doesn't support hardware acceleration and you do need a new card. If it's not greyed out, then uncheck it to enable the Realview icon.
You should also run the SolidWorks RX diagnostics application from the Windows Start Menu > SolidWorks 200x > SolidWorks Tools. This will tell you the installed card and driver, there is a direct link to the all the tested drivers for suitable cards.

I'm having the same issue, and the "Use Software OpenGL" is checked and greyed out... but I have an nVidia Quadro FX 4500 that's supposedly certified by Solidworks, and I have the most up to date driver.
Any suggestions?

Also, when you check the 'Soft OpenGL' setting, make sure you don't have any files open.

I'm starting to think my video card/motherboard is going.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks.

If you've tried all the suggestions above, then it could very well be the card itself. Do you have any colleagues you could swap with?
Did you run the SW RX dianostics?
