Rebuilding an odb for restart? - ABQ Explicit

Rebuilding an odb for restart? - ABQ Explicit

(OP)
I've been playing around with reading odb files through the python interface recently, as well as with restarted analyses in Explicit (CAE).

I'm wondering if it would be possible to do the following:

run a first simple analysis step
extract the results from the odb
analyze and modify them in Matlab
write them back to the same (or a new) odb
restart the analysis with the slightly changed values

The reading and writing is feasable, as are the necessary modifications to the input file, but I'm wondering if there's anything in the state file that might cause trouble.

RE: Rebuilding an odb for restart? - ABQ Explicit

I do not think is possible because for a restart or import analysis you need other files not only the .odb file.
