Missing Files

Missing Files

Missing Files

(OP)

Dear Folks;

Is anyone else using AutoCad 2002 and losing files ?. For the second time in one month I have had an entire directory of drawings just dissapear. I have most of the drawings recovered from autocad's temporary file save directory but the original drawing directory has totally vanished.

Is there a capability within Windows NT to see the activity of the computer with respect to file creation and deletion ? We use a server with 3 workstations and I think there must be a problem with files closing properly between my workstation and the server.

Regards Adrian

RE: Missing Files

I have found that "occasionally" someone may accidently move or delete an ENTIRE directory when his/her intent was to only copy or move a file. This can occur especially on a network... you may want to evaluate the usage of individual users and see who is possibly doing the above, as I said, I have seen this, I do not know of ACAD simply just erasing a folder. Good luck.
