Pro/E - Copy Geom - Want to break relations

Pro/E - Copy Geom - Want to break relations

Pro/E - Copy Geom - Want to break relations

(OP)
Good Day Eng-Tips readers:

I have be copy geometry from one assembly to another and now I wish to retain the geometry but do not want to keep the relation.
I there a way to clean up my assembly so my assembly will stand on its own?

A puzzled Caper

RE: Pro/E - Copy Geom - Want to break relations

You will never be able to keep the copy geom and break the link, it's like having your cake and eating it too.

What you can do is make a shrinkwrap of the copy geom into a new model using the same coord sys for placement, then bring it in the model that you want to remove the real copygeom from.

Once you bring in the shrkwrp, then delete the real copygeom.

RE: Pro/E - Copy Geom - Want to break relations

hi gross
Did u try making the feature independent in the copygeom geometry. this gets detached from the assembly that u have taken the surfaces or whatever. the relation can even be taken back when needed by making it dependent.(if the assembly is opened in the session)

Actaully, there is always a link to the copy geom and the parent geometry, even if you make it Independant. The simple fact that you can toggle between Indep and Depend means that ProE (and especially ProI) will maintain a link between the files.
