(OP)
What could be the reason in NX5.05 with color differences between modeling and drafting view. No rendersets and view depend edits are used. Look at the attached pic.

RE: different body /comonent colors in drafting - modelling

When in modeling, switch to wireframe view mode, does the color of the component in question change?

Also make sure that if you're using the Master Model approach, that the CDF (Color Definition File) is the same in the Assembly file as in the Drawing file of the assembly.

Unfortunately you can't actually verify which CDF was used in each since it simply uploads the settings and no link if created to the file so there is no record of it, however you can compare the current color palettes in NX 5 by going to...

Preferences -> Visualization-> Color Palette

...and if you wish to make a change open the 'Part CDF Settings' block where you assign the system default or the CDF defined in customer defaults.  However, note that unless they are updated, the color assignments inside an existing Part file are not affected by either the current system CDF or the Customer Default CDF assignment.

Also note that in NX 6, the Color Palette has now gotten it's own dedicated dialog, which can be found at...

Preferences -> Color Palette...

When they gave us more that 14 colors they warned you to be careful what you wish for!

I think that was me who said that as I was the product manager for that project.

John,

Yes you did. Just acknowledging that you were both right and prescient! wink

Cheers

Yes John, I remember them saying some years back that we should be careful what you wish for.

The pastor at my church says something similar "be careful what you pray for"

I prayed for warmer weather, and now look, the whole world is panicing because of global warming.
