RE: UG NX4 PART VIEW
If the situation is to do with just your icons then save a role for yourself by right clicking into the grey area surrounding some of your icons and then going into customise. Re-set all the icons by switching on on off those you prefer and finish by using the roles tab to save to a file those settings so that if it happens again then you can easily restore your preferences.

RE: UG NX4 PART VIEW
the problem i have is this:
having created a master model drawing successfully, the icons in the assy navigator have altered....,
when first created the specification file had the yellow assy block icon next to it and the model file it pulls in also had the yellow assy block icon.
now though, the spec file still has the yellow assy block icon but the model file's icon has changed to a white assy block imposed on a white drg sheet icon, also whilst in drafting application, if i change to 'model view' there is no model visible - i think this is called 'part view' but i dont yet know how to get back to 'normality'
RE: UG NX4 PART VIEW
Take a look at the attached picture.
If so, This is normal behavior.
These are simply the icons that represent a part being used in your drawing.

RE: UG NX4 PART VIEW
unfortunately, at the company i am working for, normal practice would have yellow assy/part icons representing parts pulled into the master model, are you able to see the model when switching to model view while still in drafting application using this method?
RE: UG NX4 PART VIEW
The reason for having these icons is - You are creating views from other part, I mean to say, you are using Insert -> View -> Add view from part . . .
instead of
Insert-> View -> Base view . . .
I feel it will clarify your doubt
RE: UG NX4 PART VIEW
unfortunately when the drawing was first created the views were created using base view, the icons have changed since then....
have you experienced this happening?
