Hi,
Does anybody know what is the equivalent of the V4 function SPLINE/DEFORM in V5.
What I am looking for is a way to smooth a curve in V5 and show how much(distance) we are deviating from the initial points.
I am aware of the Curve smooth in V5, which works but I am looking for a way to show the deviation values on the fly while trying different smoothing options.

Thanks for looking and you have an idea of how I can do this in V5, let me know.

I think this functionality is in the Freestyle Surface product.

I looked into it but I can't find a way to show the deviation from initial points.
can you give me more details.

You can use 3DCurve in FreeStyle, this should show you the max distance from the input points:



If the values for the input (Segmentation, order...)are enough to pass throught all point then you do not see any distance :
