Is there a way to show cylinder stroke, or aux position, in phantom on a drawing?

I know how to make configurations, or postions, but who can i overlay them in one view?

thanks!

Matthew

add another piston, make it reference and place it in the extended position

I would make a Design Rep showing only the moving components and a Position Rep and set the mate constraint position offset for the alternate position.

Then in idw simply select the Overlay View and the desired View and Postion Rep for the phantom position.  If you can't figure it out let me know and I will post an example.

RE: showing cylinder stroke on drawing

Actually there is an example in the Samples folder.  Check the Assemblies\Arbor_Press.idw on Sheet1 under View1, View2 is an Overlay View of phantom position.  If you right click and select Edit of the view you will see it is a Positional Rep "Closed".  There is also a Positional Rep "Open" in the assembly.  They used the Master View Rep, but I would have created a special View Rep including only the parts that actually move.
