elastomeric traffic bearing membrane
elastomeric traffic bearing membrane
(OP)
We are looking at repairs for an existing parking garage, and want to specify an elastomeric traffic bearing membrane. I've spoken with Sika, but they have nothing at the moment that is elastomeric. Can anyone recommend a good manufacturer of an elastomeric traffic bearing membrane for use in a parking garage?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Relatively inexpensive chloride content tests can be performed in order to determine whether concrete repairs will wind up being successful or not. If the CL- content is too high, then installing a waterproof membrane on the top slab surface could be a waste of your client's money, since it will not have much effect on the continuation of the electro-chemical corrosion cell and subsequent corrosion of reinforcement and concrete spalling.
If this is the case, then perhaps cathodic protection might be one of more effective options for significantly extending the life of the structure. Not cheap...but effective.
