Alternative to Cu Ni

Alternative to Cu Ni

Alternative to Cu Ni

(OP)
We have a small metal part that we're fabricating out of cupro nickel. We chose cupro nickel because it is solderable and we hoped it would eliminate the need for secondary plating operation. Trouble is, after awhile it yellows. Is there an alternative that is solderable and easy to fab or should we just go with CRS and have it plated? Sorry to be so vague but no one here is a metalurgist.

Thanks,
Chris

RE: Alternative to Cu Ni

What kind of part, what is the operating environment? What are the cost constraints?

Think of a square bottle cap that has 4 .02" fingers on the bottom edges of it that get inserted thru holes in a circuit board, and then get soldered on the opposite side. I don't know the end application, but I could find out if you really need it. I need to keep costs to a minimum.

Thanks for the reply.
