I have a 1961 material spec from G.E described as 1.25% Cr, .5% Mo alloy steel hot rolled, annealed any ideas what modern day material call out might be? Where can I find such specs in the future.

Thank you,

metalboss;
This material is common material for elevated temperature service specified by GE for use in their intermediate or high pressure steam turbine casings or stationary hardware.

I would recommend specifying ASTM A 739. This is a material specification titled "Steel Bars, Alloy, Hot-Wrought, for Elevated Temperature or Pressure-Containing Service."

Specify Grade B11.
