Governing code for micropile welding

Governing code for micropile welding

Governing code for micropile welding

(OP)
Would the welding of a bearing plate to the top of a micropile casing fall under D1.1 jurisdiction, or is it covered somewhere in ACI?

The governing code isn't listed on the subcontractor document, and we're awaiting the result of an RFI we submitted, but we'd like to make sure we have the appropriately qualified weldors beforehand.  I was leaning in the D1.1 direction to begin with, and even moreso after I saw the 70 degree preheat specified by engineering (typical A36 preheat).

RE: Governing code for micropile welding

I would anticipate it to be under D1.1 or D1.4.  I'm inclined to say that you should check D1.4 first.
