Alteration to fire escape

Alteration to fire escape

Alteration to fire escape

(OP)
Our firm is redesigning a fire escape.  The existing fire escape is outside the building ( 4 floors)and is a stair connecting all the floors at the North East corner.  At 2nd floor the stair turns East and runs along the East to I floor.  Now we are trying to run along the North East corner from 2 nd Floor to I floor.  What code issues should I look into.  Pl comment

RE: Alteration to fire escape

A building code.

Are you are outside the US?

RE: Alteration to fire escape

(OP)
The building is in U.S.

RE: Alteration to fire escape

Apply the requirements of the International Building Code. See the requirements in Chapter 10 for means of egress and the requirements in Section 3404 for fire escapes.
