Error due to poor quality elements

Error due to poor quality elements

(OP)
Hi,

I wanted to run a simulation in ABAQUS, but it quits saying the quality of some elements is poor. But, for my purpose, if I need to run the analysis with the very same mesh, is it somehow possible to turn off that error message and continue the analysis? I couldn't find any way to turn off this check.

Thanks in advance.
Ankush.

RE: Error due to poor quality elements

You will need to refine your mesh, or change the elements you are using first.  You simply can not "turn off" the error.

Isn't there any way I can run the analysis with this mesh for the time being, because I believe my mesh is fine (the way it is generated)?

RE: Error due to poor quality elements

Last time I looked, ABAQUS would let badly distorted elements through with a warning but block elements with negative areas/volumes (negative jacobian). If it´s blocking the analysis then you probably have negative jacobians rather than badly shaped elements and will have to correct them.
