Substation Fault Calculation

Substation Fault Calculation

Substation Fault Calculation

(OP)
Please help me to find some references about substation falut calculation. 34.5kV Ring Bus (9 bus) with 3 Transformer, 60 mva of each.  Thanks a lot

RE: Substation Fault Calculation

i want aproper solution for calculate fault calculation for the 110 kv network with 3 transformer 35mva

RE: Substation Fault Calculation

Fault Current will of course depend on the Impedance of each Transformer.   To calculate the Fault current for a transformer, simply Find the Full Load current, then multiply that by 100, then divide that by the percent impedance of the transformer in question.

Ex.  1500 3phase pad, 480Y/277, with 5.75% IMP.

(((((1500*1000)/3)/480)*1.732)*100)/5.75=31377 Fault Current

Hope this helps
Trent

RE: Substation Fault Calculation

Before you can calculate the fault current on the 34.5 kV bus, you must have the following information:

1. Impedances of the three transformers.
2. Equivalent short circuit impedance of the system connected to the primary of the transformers.
3. Impedance of any series reactors (if any).
4. Are the three transformers operated in parallel on the secondary side?
