Drawing View Extents ... got huge
Drawing View Extents ... got huge
(OP)
SW2009 0.0.
I was editing a part in context at the time, I think, and had a drawing of the assembly open.
I got confused about whether I was in part edit or in assembly, and somehow zoomed way in on the part.
Thereafter, and it may not even be related, the four views on sheet 1 of the drawing of the assembly got their 'extents' moved way out, some horizontally, some vertically. So when you click on a view, you get a red or green rectangle, but in one direction it goes _way_ offscreen.
If you then hit the 'F' key to 'zoom extents' on the drawing, the drawing becomes a tiny dot in the center of the screen. You can then roll in to get the drawing to a reasonable size, and at some point intermediate between the dot and the drawing, you can get one of the view perimeters to show as a red or green rectangle of normal proportions, but greatly magnified.
Is there a way to grab the view perimeter and shrink it to a normal size, or another way to fix it?
Thanks.

Check, too, to make sure that you don't have a dangling annotation somewhere in the drawing. This can cause the extents to act as you're seeing.

Typically i fix this by ctrl-q'ing both drawing and assy. sometimes you gotta save, close everything out and then come back in.

Removed that, and everything went back to normal.
Many, many thanks.
Eng-tips strikes again. My ISP should be so speedy. Or even get within an order of magnitude!
