OT Rube Goldberg

RE: OT Rube Goldberg

Rube would have been proud.

RE: OT Rube Goldberg

It is very clear that somebody, has entirely too much time on their hands.

"Thank God" for gravity...we have a 'motivating' force after all!

RE: OT Rube Goldberg

I showed this to a colleague who went of on a rant and said this could not possibly have been done by an engineer, here is part of his explanation:

"First of all, the system actually works.  I've been on too many programs where the systems were never intended on working and if they worked, it was pure luck.  Another observation was that the person who constructed this used objects that are already available at any retail store at a cheap price.  An engineer would have had most of these objects made from billet aluminum cnc'd on a 5 axis machine at a cost of over a million dollars.  The last observation is the time required to do all this would not be available to engineers.  Engineers typically are always at work even on weekends dedicated to the idea that they will be a great and famous engineer some day.  I think that's only happened to about 2 engineers so far since the beginning of time and no one can remember who they were."

Comments anyone?

RE: OT Rube Goldberg

Of course it was not done by an engineer. The only way to do this is, basically, is with a trial and error process. An engineer, unless in school, has no time to solve all the equations that represent the feasibility of the project prior to starting construction!
