Weldment Cut List Angle Problem

Weldment Cut List Angle Problem

Weldment Cut List Angle Problem

(OP)
I am a Solidworks newbie and I am trying to make a weldment drawing.  The weldment is basically a trapezoid made out of 2 inch square tubing.  I can model the weldment with no problem and I have been trying to make a drawing out of the part.  The problem arises when I bring in the weldment cut list.  On one of the members the cut angles are only dashes (-).  I went back to the part and looked at the cutlist item for the affected member it is also dashes for each angle. I have updated the cut list at the part level but this does not seem to help.  I have also removed all the "trim" items and rebuilt them.  The same problem arises.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

RE: Weldment Cut List Angle Problem

Which version of SW?

Can you post the file, or at least a screenshot?

cheers

SW 2009 with the latest service pack installed.  I finally got the angles in the cut list by retrimming corners that had already been trimmed.  Now the length in the Cut List does not match the dimensioned length in the drawing. I am still trying to get it to work so the part is quite screwed up now.  I am beginning to lose faith in the Cut List

I figured it out, it was a combination of different problems.  First the were a couple of points on the sketch that were not fully defined.  This was keeping the angles from resolving properly.  The second issue was when I opened the drawing after originially creating it opened in the "as machined" configuration.  This was preventing my changes from properly updating the cutlist since the cutlist is based on the "as welded' configuration.

In other words it was my fault, like I said I am a SolidWorks newbie. :)
