Can SolidWorks drawing have multiple "display styles"?

Can SolidWorks drawing have multiple "display styles"?

Can SolidWorks drawing have multiple "display styles"?

(OP)
I am making a drawing view that needs to have the "hidden lines removed" (HLR) display style, overall. One part is in front of another part in the assembly this drawing is based on and I would like to be able to see what is beneath it without changing the display style to shaded, shaded with edges, wireframe, or HLV. In the drawing, it seems that all I can change is the overall display style... is this even possible?

RE: Can SolidWorks drawing have multiple "display styles"?

In the drawing View Manager, RMB select the part or feature(s) in the view, and select the Show/Hide > Show Hidden Edges option.

cheers

Thanks, that may be useful in the future, however it only shows the hidden edges of that particular part. I am trying to see the part that lies beneath it. Basically, one part is in front of the other and I would like to make the one in front see-through, more or less.

Doesn't that violate the requirements of drafting?

Why don't you want to use "Shaded with Edges" on that view?  That is the only way I know how to get what you want done.  Of course that involves changing some of the models to transparent and their color to white so when printed you can't tell it was shaded.

I am trying to create a diagram depicting an aircraft going through different motions in each frame. I have a "propeller disk" superimposed on the propeller to make it appear as though it is spinning (some frames it is not). I need to be able to see the plane through the "propeller disk".

RE: Can SolidWorks drawing have multiple "display styles"?

You will have to create an alternate position view.  The main view has the propeller disk hidden and the alternate position view has the propeller visible.  This is a huge waste of overhead for this type of application, which is why I've asked for this capability on a part-by-part basis.  Please submit an ER!

Thanks handleman
That certainly worked and was time consuming for the simple task I was trying to perform. I definitely filled out an ER.
