Conveyor belt speed reduction

Conveyor belt speed reduction

Conveyor belt speed reduction

(OP)
I need to calculate the pulley diameter to reduce the conveyor belt speed to 40m/min. It has been a long time since I worked with the calculations.

Description of set-up: Motor running at 1470rpm transmits power from a 145mm pulley to a larger pulley of diameter 630mm. from here a gearbox with a speed ratio of 13:1 transmits power to the conveyor pulley. Finally belt speed is read off instrumentation as 48m/min.

Please could someone help with the formulae and pulley diameter one needs to use?

Set-up attached:

RE: Conveyor belt speed reduction

630*48/40=756

RE: Conveyor belt speed reduction

Alternatively change the motor pulley to 120mm
(40/48 x 145=120.8 mm)
