(OP)
My machine over the last few weeks has become really, really slow....like 20-30 seconds between commands, and while performing Undo, and going in-and-out of viewports. It's painful. I'm running 2008 Civil 3D Desktop Companion. Have any of you advice?

Hi Hoagie,

Yep.  You need to clear some disk space, optimize your hard drive, purge your drawing and possibly change where AutoCAD writes it's swap files.

You'll find you'll need to do this regularly, CAD packages can be hard on hard drives.
