A/D Converters

A/D Converters

(OP)
Are the propagation type A/D Converters subject to design as a hole
or a part of a, say, pipelined converter?
In fact they have, for a n bit resolution, n comparators.

RE: A/D Converters

I am not sure I understand your question. Are you trying to understand the way pipelined converters work ?
If you are describing the flash converters for n bit resolution we will need 2*n comparators. The pipelined A/D only needs n comparators for n bit resolutions because it uses a different conversion scheme.
I hope I've been of some help.
