Windows explorer and such

Hi All,

Does anyone use a third party file manager (windows explorer and such) to launch SE files and Rev-Man instead of the SE file open dialogue?

I've been experimenting with a shareware file manager that displays files and folders in two windows, source and target of operations are therefore always visible.
I'm finding this way very productive in my line of work.

RE: Windows explorer and such

No, I only use SE fIle open and Windows Explorer.
If I need source and destination windows for moving/copying files, I just open 2 Explorers.
Don't forget that the SE file open dialog allows multi-select.
I also usually open drawings in Inactive mode.

Hi Karmoh,

I use freecommander for the moment and it is freeware.
It's a clone of norton commander or total commander.
I use it for about 25 years now !
And I still find it the best way to manage files.
Take a look at www.freecommander.com. You can use the same plugins like you used to work with.
The latest release is a bit slow sometimes, but that will be history I hope in the next release.
But if you are looking for a replacement of file open in SE.
There is the Hitteam connect plugin. they have also a nice
tool (Hitteam tools) to copy a complete project to a new destination.
(Incl. standardparts...)

Thanks Xedu,

I'll look in to freecommander.
I have been evaluating speed commander v12. I really do find this to be an advantage when working with SE files, especially as I use dual monitors, with several clients on the go at any given time I can flick around various folders and directories at the click of a button, open, copy, view, move, synchronize and backup files at will.
I always struggled on with win-explorer and SE open file dialogue, using shortcuts to various projects, but this way is a lot more productive.

Xedu,

Hitteam tools are these available in an English version as I can only find the version in German?

Cheers

RE: Windows explorer and such

karmoh,

No, for the moment you will find a german version only.
But I think they are busy with the english.
