Material removal

(OP)
Hi, guys, how are you going?

Month ago I tried to simulate impact between a bullet and a blade of a Knife. I used share failure model.

Recently I saw a few web cast showing simulation of cutting process, which, I think, used different approch.

For, share failur model, material removed from calculation as it failed. But for cutting simulation, removing material is not realistic and not accurate.

Can anyone share your opinion? What kind of technique should I use to simulate cutting process?

Thanks!!!
