INL error and ADS5500

(OP)
Hello,

Does anyone have a good recommendation for literature on the INL and DNL specifications associated with A/D converters?

I am using an ADS5500 A/D converter.  I would like to be able to understand the INL and DNL specifications better.

Also any input on testing the ADS5500 for the INL and DNL errors is appreciated.  I was thinking of using a ramp.

Thank you.

RE: INL error and ADS5500

Analog Devices publishes a very thorough book that goes with an ADC seminar they hold every few years.

Looks like it's going for $40 in their bookstore, but if you are on good terms with your ADI rep you might be able to get it for free (although I wouldn't recommend telling them you're going with a TI part:).

Good find IRstuff!  I didn't realize you could download the chapters for free.
