PDM Solutions

(OP)
My company is looking for potential replacements for PDMWorks Enterprise and Intralink 3.4.  We do contract design work and the tool we use (Pro/E, Solidworks, SolidEdge, etc) is largely dictated by the customer.  We are currently running different PDM softwares for each tool but would like to streamline the process by upgrading to a single PDM tool.  Any suggestions or experiences would be very helpful.

Needs to have:
Support Pro/E and SolidWorks (understands file relations, etc)
Multi-site replication
Site/user/project security model to appropriately allow or disallow access for things like ITAR

Nice to have:
Supports SolidEdge, Unigraphics, Catia, EE tools, etc
Customer accessible
Offline briefcasing for disconnected laptops

So far the candidates are PDMLink and ProductCenter.

Thanks,

Doug

RE: PDM Solutions

Doug-
I know this was posted a while back, but why aren't you looking at the multi-CAD features of SolidWorks' PDME?  From my understanding it is supposed to handle multiCAD pretty well.

Thanks,
Kevin

We are having a lot of issues with Enterprise with just solidworks models in it.  we have had several "specialists" come and try and fix things with no luck.

My understanding was that enterprise would not recognise Pro/E relations but it would be able to store the files.

We are looking for new options now, trying to get away from enterprise.

Thanks,

Doug

RE: PDM Solutions

The real kicker is Solid Edge! The only vendor that supports it with the others is Siemens' with TeamCenter. PTC's Windchill does not have a WorkGroupManager for SE.
Without UG/NX or SE being your primary CAD tool, your decision does become more complicated.

RE: PDM Solutions

I am also using SolidWorks and Pro/E with PDMW Enterprise and Intralink 3.4 respectively.

I am leaning towards PDMLink but am looking for references of people that are using PDMLink to manage Solidworks data. I want to make sure that the SW users will have their needs met by the new PDM software.
