copying/pasting details from drawing to drawing??

copying/pasting details from drawing to drawing??

copying/pasting details from drawing to drawing??

(OP)
I want to copy and paste details from one catdrawing to another but without the resulting "detail name" [2].  The detail is unique inside the drawing I copying to so I am not sure what the [2] means.  If it were one or two details I would just rename them however there are so many it is time consuming to rename all.

RE: copying/pasting details from drawing to drawing??

Are you copying and pasting within the same CATDrawing file but on Sheet.2 or Sheet.3 for example?  If this is the case, then for sure you'll get the [2] because Catia needs to differentiate the two Details.  If you're copying from one CATDrawing to another CATdrawing, that doesn't seem to happen when I do it in my Catia R18.  What version are you using?  Your process, are you selecting the Datail, right-click, Copy, navigate to the new CATDrawing, highlighting Sheet.1, right-click, Paste.  Is that your process?

I am copying from one catdrawing to another catdrawing.

Yes I am using the same process you stated.

We are using R17.

RE: copying/pasting details from drawing to drawing??

Put details that are repeated often in a Catalog. It is a lot faster than fixing links and renaming details.
