save db and results..

save db and results..

save db and results..

(OP)
i have a little problem beeing new in ANSYS..

i create my models and then i solve them..but i dont know how to save them right for a future read. I save the txt file (logfile) but sometimes i want to see the results of a job or to save them for another pc... (without making all the calculation again...it takes much time)

Do i have to save both the DB and then the .rst file? i do that and i cannot read them ..a warning message appear :" cumulative iteretion 1 may have been solved using different model...."

whan do i have to do to save correctly my results?

RE: save db and results..

Save the DB as that will contain all the model info you need.  As for the RST (results) file I don't know why Ansys cannot do a better job with the warning message it gives.  Bottom line, as long as the node and element numbering scheme is the same between the DB and the RST you should be fine.  Differing boundary conditions or loads will not cause any problems.
