Solidworks Vault Use Instructions, Standard Operating Procedure??

Solidworks Vault Use Instructions, Standard Operating Procedure??

Solidworks Vault Use Instructions, Standard Operating Procedure??

(OP)
Hello,
We have PDMWorkgroup and we are rapidly bringing more and more new Solidworks users into the Vault. Does anyone have a step by step guide or SOP written for how to use the vault that is easy to follow and could help get my users up to speed quicker than trial and error? I want to try to get more control over the Vault and have less errors and "oops!" mistakes. Thanks so much!

I have followed these steps in the beginning, but each company is different.
Start with the basics that Bradley suggested (FAQs), then have weekly or monthly user meetings at your company to show all users the steps. They will eventually get it. This will eventually turn into your own company standard.
I did this for 20+ users and it worked well for most of them (there are always stragglers).

Berndog12,
Here try this. I just wrote this for our company, but is not formally released yet. The spec is a guideline for internal filing and naming conventions.

Hope this helps,

Matt,
Very well done on the CAD Standards for SolidWorks.
A star for you.
