[NX 6] Laminate Modeler
[NX 6] Laminate Modeler
(OP)
I am trying to do FEM analysis on a composite part. However, I cannot assign my laminate to my shell model.
Anyone know of a good tutorial that guides you through a composite/laminate simulation?

RE: [NX 6] Laminate Modeler
There are two ways (that I know of) to use the Laminate Composite Modeler in NX6.0.1 - one in which the laminate property is inherently part of the shell mesh, and another, "Global Layup", in which you create a Global Layup separate from any mesh, but assigned to contiguous Faces.
Which approach are you taking?
The Documentation has a good bit of info on the Laminate Composites Modeler.

After I got your reply (super fast btw!), I checked out the documentation properly and you are right. It is very good on this area.
My problem now is that NX needs to much fiber/matrix material information to perform the FEA.
Any material library with standard orthotropic materials available. Like carbon, glass and kevlar fibers?
