Salt in Oil

Hi,

Can salt be dissolved in oil? I just heard this, and don't know how this is possible..

Any papers, links etc are appreciated.

Thanks

RE: Salt in Oil

Salts are dissolved in entrained water droplets.

Make a Google search on crude oil desalters for more information.

Thank you!

RE: Salt in Oil

A Desalter is almost always present in the preheat trains of Crude Distillation Units, the first step in processing of crude oil in a refinery.
