Eductor equation and calculations

Eductor equation and calculations

Eductor equation and calculations

(OP)
Hello,

I was wondering if any one here knew how to figure out the flowrate for the suction inlet on a eductor.

I know the motive pressure and the suction and motive inlet sizes are also known. If some could let me know what other info I will need and the equations to figure out the suction flowrate I would pull in with a given motive flowrate that would be excellent.

Thank you

RE: Eductor equation and calculations

Eductors function off the "Venturi-Effect".  Look that up within a Fluids book, and it should show all the calculations and equations needed for your solution.  You may have to make a mass-balance equation to include the suction port of the eductor and account for the sudden velocity increase of the fluid because of the Venturi-Effect.

My fluids book doesnt cover eductors, only really mentions that there is a pressure drop across a venturi, and how to calculate that...

Okay I will browse the sites listed , the eductor I'm using is a shcute and koerting coincidentally.

If any one has any additional info I would appreciate it.

Thank you

aswilson87, did you check the s-k(Schutte and Koerting) site unclesyd refereneced?

Here is their literature for a steam jet syphon with charts showing flows.

I contacted S-K  with my specs. I hope they will get back to me.
