RE: Plotting from Autocad 2000 to HP 1220C

Spooky, I'm printing to my 1220C as we "speak". Sorry, but I'm having no problems. All I can suggest is (assuming you have installed your printer OK) that youu do a "Full Preview" from within Autocad before you print. If you see it on the preview it should come out OK.

I have contacted HP...Here is what they had to say to fix the problem, for anybody that needs it.

The printer settings might have changed thus, causing this error.
We can modify the settings by going to: START > SETTINGS > PRINTERS
In the printers folder, right click on the HP Deskjet 1220 icon and
select PROPERTIES.  In Properties, select the PREFERENCES TAB. In this screen, select the following settings: Print Immediately and Disable Width Sensor.  Also, remove the check from the setting: Show Status When Printing.

Next, go to: START > PROGRAMS >  HP DESKJET 1220C PRINTER > HP DESKJET 1220C TOOLBOX.   In the toolbox select the Preferences box under the Printer Status tab.  In Preferences, remove the check from ENABLE BI-DIRECTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS.  Then reboot the system.

I had the same problem, but with other wndows programs.  I disabled the edge sensor feature and it solved the problem.  If you are using the printer as "system printer" in acad, you might want to D/L the proper acad drivers from Hp.com.  I had to get these drivers to eliminate "fatal error" messages on acad.
