ASME IX QW-420.2 S# Help

ASME IX QW-420.2 S# Help

(OP)
We deal a lot in S1G2 piping materials (X-65, A707).

I have both SMAW and SMAW/FCAW welding procedures that require charpy v-notch testing which makes the Group number an essential variable.

Several of my WPS's in place were ran on P1G1 to P1G2 materials. If I understand 403.5 correctly this allows me to weld the following:
P1G1 to P1G1
P1G1 to P1G2
P1G2 to P1G2

I assume the wording in 420.2 allows the following:
P1G1 to S1G1
S1G1 to S1G1

Would the wording in 420.2 also allow the following??
P1G1 to S1G2
P1G2 to S1G2
S1G2 to S1G2
The way I interpret 420.2 is that if you run the procedure on P# material P and S are interchangeable. Am I off base here?

Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.

Flowweld,

That is the way I also read this, but the "vice versa" in the end threw me off. What were those boys thinking of?

Hopefully, your mixed P1 quals have HAZ and BM CVNs taken from both sides of the weld.
