Can't find the answer. I want to put a netgear wireless 802.11 router in a nema 4 enclosure. But i need to put an external antenna.
Do i have to find a class 1 div. 2 wireless router?
Do i have to find a Class 1 Div. 2 External antenna, which i can't find so far?
Can i use a netgear with a certified external antenna>

Can someone help me find what i might need?
I have been looking for 2 dayts now and i fin 2.3 ghz systems but nothing to answer my question on what i need.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

How about a NEMA 4 non-metallic enclosure?  Then you don't need any external antenna.

I have not looked for Division 2 routers but think that I have seen them at exhibits.  Look at the wireless exhibitor list from the ISA Houston conference last month.

Consider subscribing to a free product magazine called Antenna Systems & Technology, www.AntenasOnline.com

Many Ethernet media converters and switches are rated Division 2.  Phoenix and many other Ethernet hardware providers are getting into the wireless business.  Take care to assure that the 24 Vdc power supply is also rated Division 2.
