Rail eccentricity

Rail eccentricity

Rail eccentricity

(OP)
How can I to evaluate the effects of rail eccentricity in a crane girder? I need informations about a method of Australian Standard A5 1418.18 to evaluate torsional resistance of the rail and crane girder flange.

RE: Rail eccentricity

Look into crane design manual to find tollerance on rail mislignment and double it.

RE: Rail eccentricity

By AS1418.18 appendix C the torsion can be replaced by 'pairs of lateral forces acting at the top & bot. flanges'.
