ASTM A672 Radiographic Examination Classes X1, X2

ASTM A672 Radiographic Examination Classes X1, X2

ASTM A672 Radiographic Examination Classes X1, X2

(OP)
Hello,

The ASTM Standards book, Iron and Steel Products, Volume 01.01, Section 9 (Radiographic Examination), of the specification for A672, refers to "Classes X1 and X2". I can not seem to find the definition of these classes. Can someone point me in the right direction...

Thank you.

Look at A672 para 1.3.3. where it gives all the classes and you will notice that only those classes ending in -1 or -2 are subject to radiography (3rd column), so X1/X2 just means any of those classes, e.g. 11,12,21,22 etc.

Hope this helps
