Is anyone familar with DIN 688  1.4305?

RE: DIN STD

DIN 688 is not a valid DIN standard.  1.4305 is the Werkstoff Nummer (Material Number) for a free-machining austenitic stainless steel grade also called X8CrNiS18-9 in DIN EN 10088-1 and DIN EN 10088-3.

Thank you very much TVP.

RE: DIN STD

As TVP said,  1.4305 is free austenitic free machine grade as AISI 303.
DIN 688 could be  a mistake. Right could be DIN 668 ( pemissible variation in size of cold finished bars - i.e cold drawn, centerless ground or peeled and reeled bars ) Tollerance : h 11 ( for instance : round 1" inches , over zero /minus 0,13 millimeter )
Today this DIN 668 is obsolete and was substituded by EN 10278.
