I had a computer crash the other day that required me to re-install SE.  I started it up and had lost all of my Tool Bars.  I want to know if there is a file were these things are saved so I can just copy them from another computer.

RE: Toolbar Files

If you want to restore default toolbar on SEVx try to open with regedit the following key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge\Version x\ToolbarSettings
Just DELETE the subkey "Version" (usually with value = 14) and the job is done on next SE restart.
more drastic delete de key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge
and restart SE

It works good I did it myself

hrvisser;

Thanks for the reply.  I must admit, however, that my experience working with SE is limited to working inside the program.  I am good with making parts and doing layouts, but what you described seems like something you must do outside the software.

Could you just explain what you mean by open rith regedit, and what those keys are.  I searched through the online help and the book that came with the software but have not been able to figure out what you are saying to do.

RE: Toolbar Files

Yes it is outside SE. I use WinNT. Go to START then RUN and type REGEDIT a new program starts.
On the left side you find the HKEY_CURRENT_USER and under that the key SOFTWARE.

REGEDIT is tricky. So it is a good thing to save it first.
REGEDIT
REGISTER
EXPORT
Because I have NT in Dutch the last maybe REGISTER EXPORT.

Anyway your Network Administrator or reseller can give more information.
