Arc vs. Chamfered Wiring?

Arc vs. Chamfered Wiring?

Arc vs. Chamfered Wiring?

(OP)
I am trying to learn some basics about wiring.  I found a reference to Arc Wiring in book but there was no explaination as to what Arc wiring is.  There was also a reference to Chamfered Wiring but again no explaination.  What are these?  Does anyone know of a good website that describes these wiring types?  Thanks.

RE: Arc vs. Chamfered Wiring?

Huh?

Could you perhaps reveal which book?

RE: Arc vs. Chamfered Wiring?

It is terminology relating to CAD layouts of wiring used in construction rather than physical installation methods. Have a look at http://augiru.augi.com/content/library/au07/data/paper/ME500-1.pdf, particularly page 30 of 41

Oh, and check out www.google.com: that's where the answer above turned up. surprise

Is it a very, very old book that dates back to the days of arc lights and wood strips to conceal wiring?

RE: Arc vs. Chamfered Wiring?

This has nothing to do with electrical wiring, but how to draw it in acad.  An arc takes points and draws a part of a circle.  A Chamfered is a way of rounding a corner in a drawing, you select the radius of the corner so it looks rounder.  This is ways that acad draws a wire.

Sorry guys... I found this in some RevitMEP literature from Autodesk.  Got these terms mixed up with notes from other references.  pwrengrds - I think this is what they are refering to - simply a different way of formating linework on electrical drawings.     Thanks for all the responses!

Oh ScottyUK, thanks for the insight into www.google.com... never heard of that before winky smile

RE: Arc vs. Chamfered Wiring?

Hi scottbaldy, t'was meant in jest. lol

Is this terminology unique to that software package or is it used throughout the industry? I don't do much building services work so I'm curious.
