If i cut a hole in the metal covering of tank insulation to do some ultrasonic testing, what is a good way to seal it until the next round of testing? these are outside tanks

RE: insulation

Why not do the UT inside?
What type of insulation? Aluminium cladding? What's behind the aluminium? How good of a seal do you require? Is the exterior of the tank primed?

there is chemical in the tanks. it is ceramic fiber with aluminum cladding and i just want to keep rain out

RE: insulation

Here is the answer to your problem. We use these on all UT access holes especially on tanks and large lines. These serve several purposes, keeping the same location, weather
proof, save making another hole, etc. Studweld is one of several manufacturers.
