coupled analysis elements

(OP)
I am doing a coupled field analysis, an interaction between wind and a structure (flotran-structural). It is a 2D analysis. The structure though is a panel covered by a very thin (1mm thin) and flexible material(a plastic polyethylene film) pinned at both sides that means that dofs are ux, uy and rotz. i need to find out what is the maximum displacement of the film. If it was a 3D analysis i could use one of the shell elements but now that is 2D and the one dimension is thickness i'm a little confused... what are the proper elements for better simulation ? any proposals of different analysis?

           film thickness = 0.001
