NEC 70 power-limited vs npl

NEC 70 power-limited vs npl

(OP)
I was hoping on clarification on the use of non-power limited supervisory circuits.

1)If the device loop is an SLC circuit with detectors, flow switches, etc. (be it class A or B) then the wiring must be power-limited circuitry.

2)If there is a device like a solenoid, that does not require an EOL or loop, then we can use non-power limited circuits? (T or F) How then does it monitor with no EOL?

Is my assessment correct? The NEC talks a lot about wiring standards on fire alarm circuits, but I'm a little confused about when to use the types of circuits.

Thanks again.
