Does anyone have any info on Duralagg (plastic hollow board lagging that gets post grout or aggregate filled) - manufacturer website info? MacNab's Earth Retention Systems Book shows an example, but I'm having a hard time finding any info?.....also with that in mind, does anyone know of plastic lagging board manufacturers?

RE: Durallag (Plastic lagging)

The bigger question is why would you even want plastic lagging or lagging that needs to be filled?  Never saw it, never needed it over a couple thousand jobs.

RE: Durallag (Plastic lagging)

Agree with PEinc. There is a perception that wood lagging is bad long term, which is a miconception. If the lagging is for longterm (permenant) exposure, either pressure treated can be used or often a concrete face is poured.

More of a curiosity question, since MacNab's Book "Earth Retention Systems Handbook" mentions it as a possible facing. Check pg 201 Fig 5.11 - Dura-Lagg. I could potentially see an argument due to environmental issues (corrosive environments - Skyline HDPE Sheet piling in case)....or even the sustainability issue about using recycled content products.

DRC1, yes agree that pressure treated lumber or a concrete facing can be used for long term.

Have any of you used metal deck as facing? Which manufacturers and what gages?

RE: Durallag (Plastic lagging)

I talked to Alan MacNab.  His business partner retired to Hawaii and had the molds.  So it was their product.
