(OP)
Hi guys
I am starting to use umat and i wondered why I can't get it work.
Here is how I tried:
Opened the Abaqus command page and went to the folder that the .for and the .inp file located then wrote "Abaqus job=input file name user=FORTRAN file name"
I have Abaqus 6.7-1 and Compac visual FORTRAN installed.
The error is ' Abaqus is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file'
Could you tell me what is wrong.
Thanks

RE: using umat

Hi!

For Abaqus 6.7 you must have Intel visual fortran 9.1 or 10.1 istalled.

RE: using umat

To me this sounds like DOS doesn't have a link for the word "Abaqus" to the program.

Look at section 2.4.4 Using Abaqus commands in the 6.7 help docs. I'm afraid I can't help you with creating this link but I hope the help file works.

RE: using umat

As Dan stated "Abaqus" has not been recognised. Assuming that you have Abaqus installed under C:\ABAQUS then your environmental variable called PATH should include "C:\ABAQUS\Commands", where the batch files to run Abaqus are to be found. The PATH should have been modified during installation.
