Solenoid quality 430 strip

I'm looking for both a specification & a source for solenoid quality 430 strip to make a deep drawn magnetic component.  I can't use a resulfurized free machining grade but I want the low carbon (.06% max) and restricted chromium variation (17.25/18.25%) like you would find in ASTM A838.  Does anybody know of a similar spec to A838 but without the sulfur and for strip instead of bars?  Even more important, does anybody know of a source for such a material?

I don't want to write my own spec & have to buy an entire heat lot of material.

RE: Solenoid quality 430 strip

We have bought 430 from AK.  We had trouble getting the C high enough so you might be in luck.

RE: Solenoid quality 430 strip

I had the same problem to find 430 FR in plates. I didn't find any solution up to now.

How about using 439 for magnetic applications?  It is readily available in strip form, has very low carbon and high chromium.  I know it is not sold as a magnetic steel but it sure looks like it would work.  Does anybody have any experience using it?  Any magnetic initialization curve data?
