Sensor return Voltage drop testing ?

Sensor return Voltage drop testing ?

Sensor return Voltage drop testing ?

(OP)
Could some knowelegable person please indicate the correct procedure for checking possible voltage drop on the majority of sensor returns ?

RE: Sensor return Voltage drop testing ?

Check it at both ends of the wire... difference in voltage is the drop... not much else to say, really.

RE: Sensor return Voltage drop testing ?

...except that any drop you do get will shift the apparent sensor response.
e.g. A typical MAP sensor's output may range from 0.5 volt to 4.95 volt, referenced to its ground pin, so a 0.1 volt ground shift will give an apparent MAP minimum output of 0.6 volt and will be interpreted by the ECU as such.
At the top end, it depends on whether the sensor supply is a stabilised 5v or 12v.
