Wind Loads on Cable-stay bridge

Does anyone know of a good reference for determining wind loads on a cable-stay bridge?

RE: Wind Loads on Cable-stay bridge

I designed a 150' long cable-stayed ped bridge a few years ago. We used AASHTO & ASCE "Guidelines for the Design of Cable Stayed Bridges."

If you're designing a major bridge, you're going to need a wind tunnel analysis.

This bridge is for mainly pedestrian traffic, but has to be able to handle an emergency vehicle and/or maintenance truck load also.

I will check out the references you mentioned, maybe that will be adequate enough, Thanks.

The ASCE reference is out of print and unavailable through Amazon.com and through ASCE.

Thanks for your assistance. This was very helpful.

Watch out for areodynamic/harmonic action - like the bridge in Tocoma many years ago (late 1920's or 30's??)- cannot remember name (Tacoma Narrows??) but you see the film clip in all the Engineering Disaster series.
